Testimony

  • My name is Scott Taylor. Now, 34 years old, I have a passionate desire to reach the lost for Christ, as well as encourage the faithful, through the ministry of relational leadership.

    Having been raised in Ontario Canada, I became eternally serious about my relationship with Jesus in 2003. Since that time until now, my one focus has been, to coin a phrase, “to know Christ, and to make Him known.”

    Student Ministry Associate/Worship Leader

    Church at Viera

    For the Last two years, it has been my joy to serve as the student worship leader and since January of 2018 leading our middle school ministry for CAV Students at Church at Viera, Viera, Fl. Church at Viera is a church the exists to be a place of grace where Christ changes lives. Over 2000 people call this their home church.

    Responsibilities: Middle School

    • Provide oversite of all middle school ministry
    • Recruit and train all new small group leaders
    • Develop strong relationships with all team members through individual and group discipleship
    • Prepare weekly messages and service flow
    • Create and develop new ideas and events to grow and enhance our student experience
    • Weekly trips to local schools to help with FCA
    • Primary Worship leader for all student services

      Crosspointe Coast

      For a year and a half, I served as the celebration service leader for Crosspointe Coast, Viera, Fl. This was a church plant that is part of the Acts29 movement. They are a gospel centered church and over 120 people call this their home church.

      Responsibilities:

      • Primary worship leader for all services
      • Develop and oversee all musicians and vocalist
      • Prepare all music lists
      • Coordinate with Lead Pastor to organize and plan service flow
      • Recruit and audition members of the worship team, as well as develop their skills
      • Develop and equip other worship leaders to provide excellent worship and leadership
      • Oversee all technical departments (media, sound, lights,etc.)
      • Oversee all set up and tear down of main auditorium (church met in school)
      • Create new ideas to enhance the church and worship experience

    • Aug 2011 – Feb 2013

      Worship Pastor

      New Covenant Church

      For two years, it was my honor to serve as the worship pastor for New Covenant Church, Clyde, NC. This is a contemporary church serving the Haywood County area of Western North Carolina. They are built on the vision for the family and Biblical-based teachings, and over 600 people call this their home church.

      Responsibilities:

      • Primary worship leader for two Am services
      • Develop and oversee all worship teams, including weekly Children’s and Youth services
      • Direct weekly rehearsals with band and vocalists
      • Prepare all music lists
      • Coordinate with Senior Pastor to organize and plan service flow
      • Serve as part of the regular rotation of the Pastor on Call
      • Provide Life Coaching and Pastoring to all who serve on worship and technical teams
      • Prepare weekly devotional and prayer time with the worship team
      • Oversee ministry budget for entire worship and technical departments
      • Recruit and audition members of the worship team, as well as develop their skills
      • Develop and equip other worship leaders to provide excellent worship and leadership
      • Oversee all technical departments (Media, sound, lights, graphics etc.)

      Victory Church, Lakeside Village Campus

      For four years, it was my privilege to serve as the worship leader of Victory Church @ Lakeside Village, Lakeland, FL. This is a casual and relevant satellite church of Victory Church. VC@LV has experienced steady growth since its inception, and now, over 800 people call this their home church.

      Responsibilities:

      • Lead worship for two AM services
      • Prepare all music lists for both services
      • Direct weekly rehearsals with band
      • Coordinate with Point Pastor to organize and plan service flow
      • Develop strong relationships with worship team through individual and group discipleship
      • Prepare weekly devotional and prayer time with band
      • Work side by side with tech department to assure that all practical aspects of service are covered
      • Keep track of maintenance and inventory of all music equipment to assure its best quality
      • Recruit and audition members of the worship team, as well as develop their skills
      • Envision new ideas to grow the church and worship experience

      Worship Leader/Student Leader

      Student Church

      For two Years, I served as Student Church ministries worship leader for Victory Church in Lakeland, FL. Student Church is a diverse group of 250-300 young people.

      Responsibilities:

      • Serve as worship leader on Wednesday and Sunday nights
      • Organize worship ministry team (band members, production, etc.)
      • Assist Student Church with service planning
      • Prepare music list

      Victory Christian Academy

      Victory Christian Academy is the Christian school of Victory Church. Each week, I had the opportunity to minister to all 300 students, both in Chapel services and in the classroom.

      Responsibilities:

      • Lead chapel services for high school and middle school students
      • Occasionally lead the devotion for students
      • Prepare music lists for services
      • Teach daily classes for high school & middle school students
      • Organized and prepare daily lesson plans
      • Cordinate with teachers and faculty

      Worship Leader

      Merge - Young Adults

      During my first two years at Victory Church in Lakeland, I was the worship leader for Merge young adults. This provided an opportunity to lead a group of 100-150 passionate, young professionals and college students.

      Responsibilities:

      • Lead service for 100-150 young adults
      • Assemble band and tech team
      • Hold rehearsals and practices
      • Prepare music lists for that evening
      • Envision and create new ideas regarding message series

      Freelance Musician/Teacher/Technician

      Personal

      For the past 13 years, in my free time, I have been a private guitar instructor for 10-12 students. I have also perform different musical freelance work, as well as, provide technical support.

      Responsibilities:

      • Recorded guitar for an upcoming artist album
      • Recorded vocals for Master’s Commission Brampton
      • Performed with band for kick-off of US Missions Conference
      • Serve as a private instruction teacher of guitar since 2005
